Barry G. Hasten
Barry was born on July 1, 1963, and was raised in Arlington, Tarrant County Texas. After graduating from James Bowie High School in 1981, Barry attended Texas Christian University graduating in 1985 with a B.A. in Business Administration. After graduating from TCU, Barry attended South Texas College of Law in Houston, graduating with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1988. While at South Texas College of
Law, Barry was on the Deans Honor List.
Barry married his wife Carolyn in 1988, and they have been married for 37 years, with two sons, Austin and Quentin Hasten. Barry went to work for Hill, Heard Gilstrap and
Goetz, a large civil litigation firm in Arlington Texas right out of law school. In 1992, after building a base of clients, Barry struck out on his own and opened Barry G. Hasten Attorney PLLC specializing in civil litigation and trial work.
While the practice has always serviced a broad spectrum of litigation clients, in the late 1990's, Barry began to handle fire and explosion cases for State Farm's subrogation department. Finding fire and explosion work interesting, Barry began studying this area of law more in depth. For over a decade, Barry was asked to teach and perform mock trials for the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) where he assisted in certifying 100's of fire cause and origin experts and engineers. Barry was awarded the prestigious John R. Rauch award in 2011 by the Texas Chapter of the IAAI for his dedication to teaching and promotion of fire cause determination throughout the State of Texas.
Barry has been involved in over 15 of the largest and most destructive wildfires in the State of Texas since 2006, representing clients with large property losses. Barry has represented clients in many hundreds of structure fires and explosions, which caused substantial property loss, serious injuries, and deaths. While Barry has maintained a strong presence in the fire and explosion litigation community for the last 25 years, he has handled a myriad of other civil litigation cases ranging from large trucking/auto accidents, breach of contract, easement disputes, and first and third-party insurance matters to name a few. Barry has been voted consistently by his peers as one of Tarrants County's top civil litigation attorneys since 2009 by Ft. Worth Magazine.
